After fifteen years of self-exile in Nigeria, Kobina Jones returns to Ghana in search of a wife and family to share his wealth. He meets Osua Abor Buor who promises to find him a wife and does so indeed in Rosina, his niece. Araba stamp, mother of Rosina is fully in support of the marriage while her father, Kwesi Tsuii, is resolute in his declaration that he prefers a poor man to the richly clad character he sees in Kobina Jones. The Odikro, elders of the town, and other town members are single-minded in their communal support of the marriage; eventually, they go ahead without Kwesi Tsuii’s approval. All are regretful in their choice, however, when in the middle of the wedding Kobina Jones is arrested for stealing diamonds he evaded to Nigeria with fifteen years before.
